Each community member may decide at any point in time to keep certain development activities off the release plan. This holds for both development efforts by the member himself or by a contractor. These developments are not part of the software standard, but have to be maintained individually.

Whenever a member decides in favour of an individual development, he may choose to get advice from the component manager regarding software architecture and interface design. Doing so, he meets the condition for bringing his development into the standard at a later point in time.
